Hail Sachin

Once again it was bad luck for Australia as Sachin came from no where to score nearly two big hundreds and trashed them out of the finals. India won 2-0 CBS Finals, giving Australia not even third chance to sniff the victory. It was Sharjah reloaded when in 1998 Sharjah cup, Sachin scored two marvelous centuries

IPL : The next big thing ?

Indian Premier League, better known as IPL, earned at least a billion USD before even bowling a single ball. That not only shows the popularity of cricket in India but also the confidence on future of the second fastest growing economy in the world. IPL has been so far successful in replicating the soccer league system present in Europe. The clubs are held by the investors, which in turn can bid for the players. The soccer leagues and championships, likes of EPL and Champions League, are very popular in Europe. I can say that IPL following Twenty20 format, a recently popular ultra short version of the game, has immense potential in becoming a big hit with the cricket loving nation like India. The tournament is going to start in April 08 and I am expecting it to have decent event this year, given that IPL has received so much publicity recently be it regarding confilct of interest with other board or highest bid for player going upto 1.5m USD or ICL appealing to high court against IPL.
Lots of drama happening off the field so far lets see how it goes when the teams are actually on the field

Bon Jovi, Ski and More

Adding another rocker to my list, I attended Bon Jovi concert. Though It kind of sucked completely. Reached there 1 hour late, was way back from the stage and acoustics of the place put an end to the hope of good concert. Thats all I have to write about concert.
With winters in Japan I have spent last two weekends amid snow, skiing around the slopes and I am loving it!. Yesterday, went to Inawashiro, an awesome resort with great facilities. Though slopes were not that great, either they were too simple or too difficult but that was compensated by scenic beauty around that place. Liked that place so much that we are planning to visit it again in some time

I need Serenity

As I sit here and slowly close my eyes
I take another deep breath and feel the wind pass through my body
I'm the one in your soul, reflecting inner light
Protect the ones who hold you, cradeling your inner child

I need serenity in a place where I can hide
I need serenity, nothing changes days go by

Where do we go when we just don't know
And how do we re-light the flame when it's cold
Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

Tragic visions slowly stole my life
Tore away everything, cheating me out of my time
I'm the one who loves you no matter wrong or right
And everyday I hold you
I hold you with my inner child

I need serenity in a place where I can hide
I need serenity, nothing changes days go by
Where do we go when we just don't know
And how do we re-light the flame when it's cold
Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

Where do we go when we just don't know
And how do we re-light the flame when it's cold
Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing
And when will we learn to control

I need serenity (Where do we go when we just don't know)
I need serenity (And how do we re-light the flame when it's cold)
I need serenity (Why do we dream when our thoughts mean nothing)
I need serenity (And when will we learn to control)

The fighting chance

With 3 more races to go, Ferrari is already world champions as McLaren was caught red handed in their evil plot (such a shame!). But driver's championship is still (wide) open for grab. Hamilton leading with 97 followed by Alonso 95, Kimi 84 and Massa is way away with 77 points. Its still possible for Kimi with a bit of luck and fight. I would love to see both McLaren crashing each other in the next couple of races, as they almost did in last grand prix (its quite tense between Hamilton and Alonso, you know :D). Keeping finges crossed! Go Kimi Go! Its bit unluck that I have to leave Tokyo on Thursday just before the Japanese grand prix. I hate this :((

Somewhere I belong

Day after day, with the tick of the time
Under the lamp in the narrow streets
Unlimited dream and unlimited grief
So many things packed in a tiny piece
Under the comfort of ice chilled air
Getting moneyed with a stroke of finger
Its not the art whats going on
Creating something out of nothing
Is the art where I belong.......

Yet Another Exam!

Since I have been in HK, I have become a complete nerd. I wish If this would have happened six years back then I would have passed out with decent CGPA. But anyways who gives the damn about it now. So since the day I landed in HK, I have been a complete geek giving this and that exam once in a while. Started with 3 papers in Sept and 1 in Oct of Hong Kong Securities exchange and then the huge one, CFA in Jun and now again I have to give 2 more papers in Sept for Japanese Securities dealing. Picking up the books after 11-12 hrs of work is too demanding :( ..So what? Ok I have weekends..Fuck!! after working like hell during the week, weekend is the only thing to look forward and when you figure out that you have to study in those 2 beautiful days at the end of the week its damn frustrating. Anyways I dont have any option but to go and read something now. Can you imagine I have new Harry Potter kept on the shelf right in front of me and I am not even daring to touch that book. God Help me!!!

Long time back when life was so simple
Time was plenty and friends were there to mingle
Long day of cricket, music and gang
When I was in school it was so much fun
We were silly and carelessly dumb
Everyone was jolly with a little pride
But that was not enough we wanted to be more smart
Ended in the college with the budding bunch
Everyone was busy proving they are
smart, smarter than the smartest living one
They are superb and are the only one!

Insane $#$!$!$!$

I have 5 hrs to go, before I have to wake up again and go to work. Still I am here and writing this blog. Why? ..hmmm...good question. Let me ponder over it in my dreams. Just a thought which is scrambling my mind

Whats the use when you cant give back, when so much is given to you by others.
Why do we live in ignorance, Is that what education meant for.

Out of my mind

Out of my mind by Duran Duran, mix of Arabic music, a bit trance.

Light a candle
Lay flowers at the door
For those who were left behind
And the ones who've gone before
But here it comes now
Sure as silence follows rain
The taste of you upon my lips
The fingers in my brain
Ever gentle as it kills me where I lay
Who am I to resist?
Who are you to fail?

Got to get you out of my mind
But I can't escape from the feeling
As I try to leave the memory behind
Without you what's left to believe in?

And I could be so sorry
For the way it had to go
But now I feel your presence
In a way I could not know
And I wonder
Do you ever feel the same
In whispering darkness
Do you ever hear my name?

Got to get you out of my mind
But I can't escape from the feeling
As I try to leave the memory behind
Without you, what's left to believe in?

How could you dare
To become so real
When you're just a ghost in me

And I've got to get you out of my mind
But I can't escape from the feeling
As I try to leave the memory behind
Without you, what's left to believe in?

Here in the back of my mind

Deep in the back of my mind

Incomplete

Living in the darkness, missing something unknown, so many things untold, trying to catch a glimpse, could not get that too, so many things have passed, so many moments gone in the silence, the time keep swaying life like a ship stuck in the storm, time of hope and time of charm

Have I become philosophical lately?

I have been noticing this thing with myself since last couple of months, I am becoming more and more philosophical. Not only me but my friends are also saying that. I discovered this mostly while chatting with my friends (because I can read back the conversations). It amazes me! It might be happening because I am worried too much about the time which is going to come or the time which has already passed. Past, No I dont think so, because I dont give a damn about the past. Its mostly the unseen, unknown. Or may be I am suffering too much, unsatisfied with the results I am getting of my efforts. Or may be the life isnt going the way I expected. I should lower my expectation, no I cant do that, I am way too ambitious :( .

There you go Kimi!

What a start for Kimi, racing the first one for his new team Ferrari, and grabbing the maximum out of it. It was a walk in the park for him and in the interview he said that he was not pushing at all to maintain his position (who would have when u were 15secs ahead of everyone on the race track in just 10 laps!). The only mistake he made was just going off the track for a bit because he was looking at "something" (He must b really bored there in the cockpit, must b looking for some hot chick in the stands :D ). Nice finish by Massa himself, finishing 6th when he started at the back of the grid. Must b really hard for him driving on 1 pit stop strategy. Hats off to Hamilton. Podium on the Formula One debut is a great achievement, only few have achieved it in this sport. The drive from him was smooth, car was nice and it didnt feeling like that it was his first race. He made Alonso chase him :). The best part of Hamilton was that he made no mistake unlike Heikkei who was still driving a Go Kart on Formula One track. Disappointing race for Honda and Renault. I think they dont stand a chance of winning even a single race in this season. It will be good to see what Massa does in the next race. I bet he will get pole in Malaysia.

The man, the machine and the Formula 1

The Formula One begins with Australian Grand Prix on 18th March. With Ferrari flying around in their practice sessions, I have good reason to smile :). Last time they just missed the championships. I am hoping that this time they will not even give anyone sniff of victory. I'm quite optimistic about them :) and I have my own reasons. In 2006 they had a poor start but they came back quite strongly in the mid-season. As the team worked with car and tyres, they had a complete winning package. Thats the reason Schumacher managed to close the gap of 25 points between Alonso and himself. Massa was just beginner in 2006, but as season progressed he mastered the art of racing, making less and less stupid mistakes which eventually paid him off with a couple of victories. Ferrari, as a team kept up their strong work and thanks to them, we had such an exciting finish of 2006 Season. They have maintained their momentum and Massa is topping charts everywhere. Lets not forget Kimi, though he is slightly under performing (given the fact he has Ferrari under his hand) but he is a great driver and he is challenging Driver Championship since the time he came to Ferrari. I think it will be a good fight between Massa and Kimi. Alonso is down lil bit, with new team, that too Mc Laren which didnt have great run last season. Fisichella, he always makes mistake what else can I say. Hamilton of Mc Laren and Heikki of Renault, newbies might struggle in starting races. Mc Laren and Renault are lacking experience in second driver but who knows, they might turn out like Massa ;). I dont want to discuss rest of the drivers because they still need to find some pace.
